It seems appropriate, after the American president’s speech last night on rape, to review the statements of one of the most outspoken supporters of the legalization of abortion in the U.S., a statement he made in 2001, the year before he was appointed to a prominent position at St. George’s School of Maryland.
Said Richard Williamson, now president of St. George’s School:
We are going to legalize rape! –Comment made in the course of a lecture to his students at St. George’s School in Maryland.
In 2011, as St. George’s School president, Richard Williamson was presiding over a fundraiser for the school which was attended by Chelsea Clinton.

In 2013, after Mr. Williamson became president of the school, it was revealed that he had defended a child rapist at the Catholic high school where he was a teacher.
In the summer of 2012, Ephrata, Pennsylvania priest Edward Avery was charged with raping a teenage boy. The priest pleaded guilty to the charge and was put on probation for two years.
During this time, Williamson defended the priest in an interview with the school newspaper.
He said:
“It’s our job to protect our young men and boys, and I believe that in doing that, we are protecting them by protecting them from evil and harm.”
